DeepSeek Harness Plugins · Web Tools
Plugins that extend DeepSeek Harness (DSH) with vision, workflows, memory, web tools and more.
Web-tool plugins fetch or search from inside the agent. Turn them on when the task depends on a page you can name. Leave them off when the task is inside the repository and the plugin keeps wandering out. A tool that "always looks it up" will cite pages the model did not open. Ask for the sentence it used and the URL.
This category is not model inference. Fetching a README does not change which model answers. It changes what text gets pasted into the model. That text may be untrusted. A prompt-injection page is a real input. Do not grant a web tool permission to then run tools based on what the page says, unless you meant to build that footgun.
It is also not a security scanner. Pointing a fetch tool at your own docs is ordinary. Pointing an attack generator at a host is a different category and a different permission. If a card blurs those, follow the README's verbs, not our chip, and report the card.
Cache and rate limits matter more than stars. A plugin that refetches the same docs on every turn will be slow and will hammer the site. Prefer one that stores the page for the session and shows you when the copy is from.
Try it on a page you already have open, and compare a quote. If the quote is not on the page, uninstall. A wrong quote with a confident URL is worse than no web tool, because you will repeat it.
Paste the URL the tool claims it read under the quote in your notes. If you will not keep the URL, do not keep the quote. Unsourced sentences from a fetch plugin age into fake citations the next time someone copies your summary. Keep the URL in the note, or delete the sentence before you close the laptop.
